We are pleased to announce that an employee of the Military Institute of Armament Technology, Mr. Michał Banaszak, achieved an exceptional feat by reaching the summit of Mont Blanc (4,809 m above sea level), the highest mountain in the Alps and Western Europe.
The expedition required intensive preparation, excellent physical condition, and the ability to operate in challenging high-altitude conditions. Mr. Banaszak demonstrated determination, perseverance, and teamwork—values that are equally important in our daily professional activities.
Reflecting on the ascent, he noted that mountaineering shares many similarities with engineering work: success is not accidental but the result of learning, repeated effort, and systematic hard work. The experience also fosters humility, discipline, and resilience, which translate into both personal and professional life.
The expedition to the Alps was not only the fulfillment of a personal passion but also a symbolic gesture connected with the upcoming 100th anniversary of the Institute in 2026. At the end of the journey, he visited the Sanctuary of La Salette, where he expressed gratitude for the Institute’s century of continuous contribution to the Polish Armed Forces and national defence, while also seeking blessings for the future.
We are proud that our Institute is represented by individuals who pursue ambitious goals and promote an active lifestyle. We extend our sincere congratulations and wish him continued success and safe future expeditions.
