Celebration of the Polish Armed Forces Day at WITU

On August 14, the Military Institute of Armament Technology (WITU) hosted a solemn celebration to commemorate the Polish Armed Forces Day.

The ceremony commenced with the playing of the Polish National Anthem. Subsequently, a delegation led by the Director of the Institute, Colonel Paweł Sweklej, PhD, Eng., laid flowers at the obelisk commemorating the Institute’s employees, paying tribute to their hard work and dedication in shaping the institution’s history. This gesture paid tribute to their hard work and dedication in shaping the institution’s history, while also honouring the soldiers and all individuals whose service and labour have contributed to the development of Poland’s defence capabilities.

In recognition of the staff’s commitment, professionalism, and outstanding efforts, the Director personally presented state decorations. These included:

  • Gold, Silver, and Bronze Crosses of Merit – awarded for contributions to strengthening the defence and sovereignty of the Republic of Poland.
  • Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals for Long Service – awarded for exemplary and exceptionally conscientious performance of professional duties.

The event provided an excellent opportunity to jointly celebrate the Polish Armed Forces Day and to underscore the vital importance of service and work dedicated to the security and defence of the Republic of Poland.
