The Military Institute of Armament Technology hosted a delegation from the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Lithuania

On June 15, 2025, the Military Institute of Armament Technology hosted a delegation from the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Lithuania, consisting of the advisor to the Minister of National Defense, Artur Plokšto and two representatives of the Department of Industrial Policy and Defense Innovation at the Defense Materials Agency of the Ministry of National Defense Marius Alekna and Mindaugas Nacevičius.

The subject of the visit was to familiarize the guests with the scope of the Institute’s activities in the design and research of warfare agents. The meeting occurred in the ammunition hall at the Explosives and Warfare Agents Research Center (ZCW). The guests were welcomed by the Deputy Director for Research and Development, Col PhD Eng. Radosław Warchoł, who then gave a presentation on the structure, achievements and directions of development of the Institute. In the following speech, the Head of ZCW PhD Eng. Agata Kamieńska-Duda discussed the main topics of work carried out in the center she manages. In turn, the representative of the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defense delegation familiarized the audience with the activities of the Materials Agency and the priority directions of activities. The next point of the visit was the presentation of selected positions in the Institute’s laboratories. Among other things, the laboratories for testing explosives’ physicochemical and mechanical properties and the systems for checking the correctness of assembly, including the X-ray diagnostic system, were presented. The stations for disassembly and laboratory tests of initiating elements used in ammunition were also presented during the meeting. After the presentation of the ZCW Center, the Center for Firearms and Ballistic Shielding presented selected tests of firearms ammunition. The next point of the program was a visit to the Institute’s training ground, during which the Center for Ballistics and Unmanned Systems presented the operation and capabilities of unmanned systems designed at WITU. In the discussion summarizing the visit, both parties expressed their willingness to cooperate in the scope of activities covering the use of combat assets and broadly understood cooperation between institutions. At the end of the meeting, the Lithuanian guests were presented with commemorative medals from the Institute, and the representatives of the Lithuanian delegation gave with thanks and a commemorative statuette of the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania for Col PhD Eng. Radosław Warchoł.
